In 2025, Oslo Brass Quintet celebrated it` s tenth anniversary with the CD release "Melodies of Stray – Norwegian Brass Music", world premieres of works by Geir Lysne and Bjørn Morten Christophersen, as well as the new children's production MESSING. The ensemble consists of active freelance musicians with a broad artistic background, based in Oslo. The quintet stands out with its unusual instrumentation – bass trombone instead of tuba – which creates a distinctive sound. The repertoire ranges from classic brass quintet literature to contemporary music, with a particular focus on original compositions and commissioned works from Norwegian composers. Over the years, the ensemble has worked purposefully to showcase the breadth and flexibility of the brass quintet, and regularly collaborates across art forms.
